Foxtel Digital Playout Centre

Completed in 2006, this state of the art digital playout centre houses the pay TV provider Foxtel.

Working closely with architects Byron Harford and Associates, James Taylor and Associates provided the civil and structural design and documentation for the project.

The project consisted of the construction of a new hub building that interfaces with two existing buildings on the site. The new hub building contains 2 basement levels and houses 3 production studios. The hub building links to the refurbished library and digital centre via a footbridge/breakout space located over the main vehicular access.

Interesting challenges encountered in the design of the works included vibration isolation, column removal and underpinning, relocation and reuse of existing structures from the Pyrmont campus.
